Wedding Invitations

***Simply Living has moved!  Come check us out at http://www.simplylivingjen.com for new updates ***

In order to save even more cash (every little bit helps!) we decided to design and print our own invitations.  I headed to Michaels and found a box set of invitation on sale for 75% off.  So I snatched up two.  I hated the color they were mounted on, and the ribbon, but that was easy to fix.  So I set out to find some embellishments and a better color of card stock.  I would be lying if I said it was easy to get the layout I wanted, it took me days just to get it to print correctly.  But it was worth the extra effort!  I can get a little OCD when it come to even spacing and lines....
I was excited to find small paper flowers in our colors on sale at Michaels, so I got the girls together, we took out our paper cutters and glue dots and here was the end result!
DIY Invitations
Not perfect, but perfect enough.  The original set had a brown backing with a solid brown ribbon on the side, where I printed heart.  I ended up liking the ink print better than a ribbon on the side, and I thought that the flowers added the extra 3D touch we wanted.
I printed the addresses directly onto the envelopes.  I thought this looked nicer than sticking on address labels, and it looked way nicer than my handwriting!  Then I headed to Etsy for a fun return address label.  I found a stamp I thought was adorable, and was impressed with how quickly it arrived.  I took off our address, but here is a sample of what the design looked like.

I used a blue ink pad, and set them all out to dry!
All our invitations ready to go!
Things were starting to feel pretty official!
